Finally my B vagans has dropped an egg sac - :woohoo:
She is protecting it with her life, I have put food in for her in the form of superworms as I am worried about putting crickets in with her. Is this ok?
She has had the egg sac now for one and a half weeks and it took five months for her to drop the sac.
How long do I leave the egg sac with her?
More or less how long does it take for the eggs to hatch?
Can the babies stay with her once they hatch and if so for how long?

Thanks guys I appreciate the help

Hi Leechie

What i did was leave it alone..no water and def no crickets or roaches in the tank,
i left her for 23 days, and when i took it i had eggs with legs.

keep a heatpad on the tank aswell :)

i think there will be some better advice from others..but this worked for me
and my sling are already 3rd instars.do you know what your gonna use for incubating?

Hey Leechie and well done on your first eggsack!
1st thing, get those superworms out of there ASAP!! they will irritate her and cuase her to stress as she may see them as a threat to her sack and decide to either abandon the sack or eat it! you dont want that.
It is pretty rare for the mother to eat while nursing an eggsack anyway. She may decide to go in search of food or water so dont stress if you notice she has left the sack; it is most probably only for a few minutes. it is good to have a water bowl in there for extra humidity but try use a bowl that is not too shallow and the rim is quite a way off the ground.

You can pull the sack on the 28th day and you should find 1st instar spiderlings.
The next step is to incubate them untill they molt into 2nd instar and then you can seperate them into atchar tubs- im sure we can get someone to post a pic of a DIY incubator.

All the best and keep us posted!!
