I would not worry to much , if she's using her hide its a good sign that she has settled into her enclosure , you said she was more active ? This could be because she was exploring her new environment ,
Infact G.rosea was my very 1st T , and she also had me worried couple of times , they sometimes refuse to eat months on end !

Most spiders are active at night, if you want to catch a glimpse of some of your pet holes do the night spying game B)

Yes, some tarantulas will run and hide once they feel or see movement or the lights gets turned on.

The larger and the more secure your spiders feels the less they will run away and hide from you.
