Hi so I was told that the average time for turkistan egg cases to hatch was after about 3 months. well when I started I decided to conduct a test. I left some in the roach tub, some I put in a tub with no heating and some I put in a tub on a heat mat. I kept a high humidity in the to tubs and left the turks to maintain their own humidity. I also had a tub that I used without any extra humidity but I lost all those eggs they all shriveled up. Well after a month and a bit my first babies hatched out of the tub on the heat pad so it fast forwarded the hatching time.

So, so far we can assume that heating the eggs to about 35-38C and maintaining a good humidity will fast forward your production rate.

Help this helps some people to boost their production rate.

I have now also done further tests for those interested. I put some of the egg cases in the tub with moist toilet paper and some of the cases I put in a tub with some moist peat. I heated them both on the heating pad and was quite surprised. Well the egg cases in the tub with peat hatched faster than the ones on the toilet paper. I think is has to do with the ooths (egg cases) being slightly buried in the peat so the heat spread in the peat and warmed the ooth from all sides. Where with the toilet paper the heat only comes from the small area in contact with the paper. The Ooths took a month to hatch out in the tub with the peat. :woohoo:

Conclusion = ooths buried in peat and heated has a quicker hatch rate than they do on normal toilet paper. :whistle:

That is all good and fine when we are talking about 100 Turks. The container Cerat got from me had so many ooths and what not at the bottom that I never even needed peat. When 100 turns to thousands I am so not going to add any peat. Hell the only thing that has peat is my Tarantulas and cave roaches
