I've been browsing the forum and stumbled across Stalkers photo thread. Amazing photos dude!

It also got me thinking, which live plants can I plant in my enclosures, and would you recommend it?

Plants in your tank makes the humidity nice and high so depending on the species of tarantula it would be a good thing.
I recommend using the plant called Hen and chicks its found in almost every garden.

My mom has a lot of them in her garden. Is there any special soil requirement needed or will the spider peat do?

They grow fine in normal peat just dont water them excessively. I grow a few of the chicks in a separate container till their roots have established nicely, then i put them into my tanks.

Are these suitable for any spider enclosure?

I think maybe you are referring to a plant called a 'Mexican Snowball'
Echeveria elegans.
