The difference between utility and utility plus beauty is the difference between telephone wires and the spider web.

Good Day everyone, my name's Mike. I'm out in the West Rand and got erm... bit by the Tarantula collection bug a few months back. I currently have:
G.Rosea about 4cm
G.Pulchripes about 4cm
L.Difficils about 3cm (moulted yesterday
)
H.Lividum about 4cm
A.Versicolor about 4cm
And a few more currently in transit
I've started out with all slings as my Girlfriend has not quite fallen in love with the idea of mature spiders quite yet but loves working with the slings and watching them grow.
Sadly I found you guys while researching my G.Rosea's DKS like behaviour which is showing no sign of abating. I'm truly gutted as it was my first spider was quite a character and I've grown very attached to her. I still hold hope that she may moult out of it.
So far loving reading about the experiences of fellow collectors in South Africa. So far I've been lucky to find a few knowledgable guys in pet stores (mostly trying to part me with my cash but also with enough knowledge to send me off to the interwebs to do tons of research) but without forums like these niche hobbies like this would be in serious trouble.
