Hey guys, good to finally join a T forum.
A bit about me:
I am 25 from Durban. I have always wanted to own a tarantula and about 2 years ago i decided it was time. I have had a bit of a sad start to tarantula keeping but I have battled on. The first T. I owned was a Grammostola Rosea, I bought it as a sling and sadly it died after a few weeks from not eating. A short while later I bought a Haplopelma Lividum, I am sure it was a female aswell. I bought it aged around 2 months and kept her for a year before she also died. I think this death was related to an issue molting. She was fine and healthy and then after her malt, she was gone. She had been eating fine but after her molt she had a tiny peanut bum. Those were sad times as I loved them so much and gave them a lot of attention. I will of course post pics of all of them later on. Since then I have bought 2 more T's. I have a big healthy Grammostola Pulchripes which I had from tiny sling. I am hoping its a girl and all the signs say so. I have named it Goldy and its gets alot of attention. I always bring it out and handle it. Defiantly my favorite T at the moment. I advise anyone here to get one if you haven't already. Perfect for beginners and it grows so uber fast. I also recently added a Brachypelma Albopilosum sling to my family. This ones already getting very big and also great to handle. I must say I am a big animal fan and have had experience with a lot of different pets and T's are still my favorite (after my dogs of course!)
Glad to be a part of this community and I hope to learn lots and contribute just as much.
