I'm going to say untrue with regards to connectivity :drunk: .
Now a days I think allot more people have internet at home, most if not all cell phones have internet access.
You get your 3G Dongles, also allot more people have internet connections at home.

But you are right about the lack of "movement" on the forum well posting over a weekend, I think people are doing things over the weekend and only log on during work hours as it gives them something to waste their day with. whistle2 :deal bored
We don't see everything that goes on with the forum. If we have to ask Dimitri what the traffic looks like on a weekend we most proberly will it to be more less the same as the week, just that no one really post things over the weekend.

We also have to take in consideration of the other time zones we have on the forum, like the States, When we sleeping they are working.

This is the first weekend that I'm at home in over a month and able to sit in front of the computer. otherwise I work off my phone and then I just check what is going on and if something needs to be moderated.

I also think life gets busy for all of us, it is more rushed than it use to be.

Welcome Shaun.

Some of those photo's are taken by people who make a living with photography.
But as long as a photo is not blurry, it is a photo weather taken by a pro or a 5 year old, we love seeing photo's on the forum. ;)
When I got into tarantulas, my first camera was a Fujifilm FinePix A500 and then went onto a Nikon CoolPix L16 digital camera, it had a mean macro on it.

Picture of H. lividum, same spider 2 different cameras.

With regards to pictures, light is what makes the picture, I often would go outside, find a nice sunny spot to take pictures of my spiders.
Even if you take pictures inside your house, use a desk lamp or the brightest part of the house, it will help allot.

So if you have photo's please share.
Also don't worry if you only have 2 spiders, we all start off somewhere, just think of all the people that don't have a single tarantula, their lives must be boring! :eyepoke: stir

The awesome thing about being on the forum, you gain knowledge!!

Unfortunately it is true. Already noticed this long ago, and you would think it would be the opposite. People online during the Weekend and offline during the week

That's only because so many others are only lurkers! The major question is, "Why, with you being such a lowly newb, are you so brazen as to bother us with your foolishness?" (STOP! STOP! THAT WAS A SARCASTIC JOKE! DON'T FLAME ME OR START MAILING ME LETTER BOMBS! IT'S A JOKE! IT'S A JOKE! )

In fact, I wish more novices would either ask questions or contribute their experiences. We need a good laugh now and then! (STOP! STOP! THAT WAS ANOTHER SARCASTIC JOKE! DON'T FLAME ME OR START MAILING ME LETTER BOMBS! IT'S A JOKE! IT'S A JOKE! Oh, I've got to stop this or I'm going to get thrown off the forum!)

Yes, I'm just picking on you because you're new and I'm a grouchy old curmudgeon. Please forgive my lame jokes.

Please and seriously, the two principle reasons we have this forum are

1) To trade arcane and esoteric information about these enigmatic creatures.

2) To help newbies get started on the right foot.

We want and need your participation. Fresh people bring along fresh ideas, and frequently going over the older, well established stuff refreshes our collective memories. It's a classic win-win situation.

welcome
