I hope it will be "educational"... if only we could keep the clutter and BS down to a few million posts.

The enclosure will be that of the female for at least a year. It has a good bit of hiding place, plants and deep substrate. I will introduce 20 third instar slings once they can walk properly after their molt. The enclosure is about 40X40X80cm, I think big enough for now.

Once they become juveniles, I will make something similar to the M balfouri enclosure, but upright of course. I am anticipating an 80X80X100cm with the normal decorations.

I am keen to see how the female reacts when she notices the slings. I am not to convinced she will become a caring mother like M balfouri, but I also not see her harming them. What the slings will do to each other is a different story altogether, but that for later. The eggs with legs are currently turning black, so they should be third instar by middle January of next.

Just as a matter of interest, there is a 10cm H gigas female living with the P metallica female. The H gigas has a huge burrow underneath the P metallica cork tube. I will remove the H gigas before I introduce the P metallica slings. These two have been living together for 9 months... Strange but true...

Most people are like clouds. The sun comes out when they f*ck off...

I have a communal with 11 P.Metallica the thing to watch out for is the buggers are fast very fast as you know. Keeping them all in when you feed is going to be your biggest problem.

Not to hijack your post.
Like I said the bastards are fast...
Tonight I decided to feed the roaches I also decided to use the tub for the crickets to catch some small roaches by baiting the cricket tub with holes with fresh carrot thereby only letting in the baby roaches. Upon cleaning the tub I discovered a leftover baby cricket. I decided to put it in with the 11 p.metallica's. I slightly opened the lid taking caution not to let any out then popped the cricket in - walked next door and finished preparing the bait tub. When I returned to the T room felt something on my wrist.... Most people would have wiped it off or given it a whack! It was a p.metallica sling that had somehow climbed onto my wrist in the 1/10 of a second it took me to open the lid to pop in the cricket... I put him back where he belongs... Learning a lesson to teach to others.... The buggers are fast very very fast.....
