    Hmmm...
Im gonna go with G. pulchra?

It cant be Brachypelma schroederi because at that size the carapace is still light in colour and the docility is a clue. Also, is that the tell tale "mirror patch" that i see on the abdomen?

    Hi Reinier,

You have absolutely nothing to worry about :)
The Genus Grammostola (which includes the Chilean Rose and the Chaco Golden Knee) is known (and easily identified) by the so called "mirror patch" on the abdomen, these are not scabs.

It is true that the Chilean rose (and the Chaco Golden Knee) can go without food for months and this is considered normal behaviour for them. Keep offering food once a week and if not eaten, remember to remove the food after about 24 hours.

From the picture, your T looks perfectly healthy and plump so you can stop worrying :)

Also looks like you have a Red Colour Phase G. rosea there ;)

    Hello,

Does anyone know if it is legal to keep (and purchase) a Pied Crow in South Africa?
I think they are awesome birds and i know they are extremely intelligent and apparently more vocal than an African Grey.

I would love to keep one!

    Any info would be great.

    Thanks guys

Sad day today for Metalheads around the globe as Jeff Hanneman, the founding member of the legendary metal band Slayer passed away after suffering from complications led on by a spider bite.

From the articles i've read, it seems that Jeff was bitten in 2011 by a spider (i haven't discovered which spider).
I assume that severe necrosis set it and Jeff underwent a series of skin graphs, at one stage there was talk of his arm being amputated.

Sadly, Jeff passed away last night after suffering liver failure.

I would like to know if anyone has any idea what spider could have caused this?
as you'll see from pictures, he was no sissy and far from a "little" person in terms of his physique.

Here is a link to one article:

    R.I.P Jeff Hanneman.

I beg to differ. It was basically saying that Atheists aren't able to talk about religion as they don't know shit, which if you think about it, is saying they know nothing.

    Think of religion like this:

Some dudes get together one day and decide to unite under one person or mythical being.
They get all their teachings from person/being. They spread it. They attempt to convert people to their ideology.

Until, after a while, millions of people follow this group and then it can be considered a religion as they spread the teachings of said person/being.

Now, if you look at it like that, Atheism is a little Quasi-Religion, as they follow the teachings of Charles Darwin, spread his teachings (seminars, books, scientific papers) and have millions of followers.

Although Atheism is about defying religions and finding practical answers to everything, you can consider Atheism a Semi-Religion by how it is structured.

Now, I'm past this as it's already sorted out in my mind. I had a bad week that week the above was posted, so forgive me.

Be that as it may, I still feel that if jokes towards Christians and other religions aren't tolerated, then I feel that jokes towards Atheists shouldn't be tolerated either otherwise that's wrong

Hate to break it to you buddy, Darwinism is also flawed.

    hmmm..
well, first thought is it's 100% NOT cupreus.
2nd thought is it doesn't quite look like your violaceus because the carapace is totally different.

    Thanks Dimi.
