  • Robert Wood created a new topic ' Avicularia purpurea RIP' in the forum.

    Rest in Peace!
Guys just a heads up - 1 x xtra small cricket found a very good hiding place and was therefore assumed eaten  - When I came back from a couple of days R&R I found my 1.5cm A. purpurea floating in the water cap. With closer inspection the entire carapace was gone, & there I saw this %&*#@ little cricket looking rather smug with itself! Needless to say Hanibal Lecter would have been proud of me with what followed!
Only me to blam & the most STUPID mistake I have ever made!
    No more crickets EVA!!! :chainsaw:

  • Robert Wood created a new topic Pinheads in tank in the forum.

    Hi everyone,

Just want to pick someones brain:
    1. Do the pinheads pose a threat to the T (even if I put a slice of carrot in - trying to extract them without destroying the T's environment)
    2. Is there any way of avoiding this (except from only feeding T male crickets)
    3. Is there a better way of getting the lil buggers out

I have searched the forum (& stand 2 b corrected) have not found info on pinheads in a T's enclosure.
Please direct me to such threads if possible instead of repeating yourselves.

    Thanks

    Hi Guys,
Was wondering if anyone knew what this is, I keep finding quite a few running & flying around the house.
They are quite large (roughly 30mm) and have a quite a knack fro jumping, then fling off. I managed to catch this one before my staffie ate it, another one!
Please any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Tks
