Hey everyone.
I have a very strange question to ask but I'm struggling my butt off. So i obtained a few Sling and bought PINHEADs. But for the love of insanity I'm struggling to get the pinheads out of the container into my tubs with my slings, more of them end up on the ground which i just leave them than successful in the tubs ... I ended up trying to catch them last night with a straw and a an ear bud. With lots of struggle again i managed to catch a few, but was wanting to know... IS THERE No EASY WAY? Please ladies and gents I really need advise before i go crazy.

If i cannot inpress you with my intelligents, I will baffle you with my bullsh!t

Been there...

Take an empty plastic tub of any nature, say an empty five liter ice cream tub. Gently lift the egg tray on which the pin heads are out of the shop tub and shake them off into the clean ice cream tub. Now remove any debris that might fall into the ice cream tub.

Now take a narrow tall glass, like the ones you use for Brandy and Coke on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Take the ice cream tub with the crickets and shake it vigorously. The little shits will loose their footing. While shaking, empty the contents into the tall glass. You will find they can't climb up the glass.

Now open your little sling tub and gently tip a crick or two from the glass into the spider tub, tapping the glass gently with your finger, almost like you would tap salt over your fish and chips... The cricks will jump, but mostly into the sides of the glass. If you do this carefully, you will hardly ever loose a cricket.

Once done, put the remaining cricks back into their original tub and poor yourself a stiff one into the glass because you deserve it...

Hi Blade,
Well I dont feed my slings pinheads. I feed them 1/4 or half inch crickets. I cut the cricket up into 2 or 3 pieces (depending on the size) and feed the pieces to my slings. It really simplifies feeding a few slings without having to mission to catch pinheads and squashing them. Hope this helps.

It is possible that one would want to cut up the crickets before feeding. I found that certain species like Short Loin more, while others prefer cricket Brisket. The smaller ones would go for Sirloin. In many cases they would also take Shank and even Bottom Sirloin.

I found it difficult to put napkins on my smaller spiders, but the bigger ones have no issue with this. Toothpicks are also a useful addition to a meal...
