All fair and all, but as the Magnificent Duke already said none of our T's in sa would ever be here if it weren't for ppl like this.
Stuff happens all the time, millions of unborn children gets killed LEGALY, yet we all have soooo much to say when 1 rhino gets killed etc etc etc...

Just my 5c worth whistle2

Someone is not doing a good job at packaging or smuggling as this is the 3rd package that has been intercepted coming into SA, the first package with the huge lose attached to it.
Just wonder how many more packages are making it into the SA, how many more of our spiders still have there wings.

I also wonder why it is such small amounts of spiders, maybe a minimum order?

Sad that the spiders did not make it but they would of either be killed or sent to stay in the zoo in crap accommodation.
But it means one of the 2 people involved has lost a lot of money from this attempt.

I wonder how many Tarantula collectors are in Newcastle, as Natcon seems to know where to find some of them.

I've sent and received a number of tarantulas to and from Newcastle . There seems to be quite a lot of hobbyists from there.

If these animals escape from captivity, they cause havoc by multiplying, competing with indigenous wildlife for habitat, cross breeding and creating hybrids and they could also carry diseases, which they transmit to humans and indigenous wildlife. There is also the danger that a pet owner, who loses interest in the animal, will release it into the wild where it may starve to death,” warned Mr Muller.

:deal

Same BS every time. Yeah the person ordered Exotic tarantulas "probably rare", "probably a collector" yeah I am sure he is going to free the animals hippy style, and probably hug a tree too?
