Common Name:
Mexican Red Rump or Mexican Black Velvet

Habitat:
Native to Central America and has been found in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Costa Rica. More recently it has also been reported in central Florida. They tend to avoid forests and primarily live in open areas, such as forest clearings and back gardens.

I know this is a very common T in the hobby, so it's probably not very exciting for everyone to see grow, but nevertheless, here goes.

I'll start off with the tiniest T I have. It is about 1.5cm at the moment.
I acquired "Loki" on the 15th of October 2013 at approximately 1cm. It molted on the 13th of November and reached its current size.

I will post a picture as soon as possible where it will be measured with a ruler, but I have to start somewhere.

It is kept in a small container on slightly damp peat with vermiculite, which is kept in a larger (1m X 0.5m) glass cabinet at room temperature (Between 24 - 28 degrees celcius)

It is fed pinhead crickets (two pinheads every week) to start off with. It was last fed on the 8th of December 2013.

Note, each block is 1cm X 1cm, so the T measures in at around 2.3cm by my estimate.

UPDATE:

Molt Date: 2014-04-23
- 74 days since last molt.
- Date last fed: 2014-03-09 (Days hungry = 44)

I have not been able to remove the molt from it's burrow as yet. It should come out of its burrow within the next few days then I will measure it and its molt. It looks to have doubled in size with this molt.

Will add pictures soon.
