So sad to report that I have lost two T's in the last 3wks, I'm not sure if its due to the extremely high temperatures (38-40c some days, at 100% humidity) we had experienced in these few weeks or what it could be.

First was my Lampropelma Violaceopes juvie (around 9cm) that died the day before xmas, she was nicely fed and plump and got water on a weekly bases. She had no signs of disease but I suspect that she got stuck underneath the bark I had in the enclosure as she had a slight loss of hair on the top of her abdomen and was close to a hole she made beneath the bark. I had her in the ICU for 3days as she had slight movement when touched, after the 3rd day no response.

Then today I start feeding Ts and there is one of my Cyriopagopus Schioedtei slings in the death curl, no movement so not even going to try put her in the ICU...

Could it be that the ambient temps here are to high for these Asian beauties?

Sorry for your loss ..
But I don't think it could be a temp thing ..
I've been to one of the asian countries and our south african heat is nothing compared to theirs.
It is very hot and humid there ..

Thanks for the info Huzi. I was just wondering as I found climate data for the areas both species are found and the temps just ranged between 23-32degrees or so. No mention of hitting 40s at 100% humidity like what we experienced here a few times in December.

Just holding thumbs there are no more losses...

Argh that sucks man. Such nice spiders as well!

If you are worried about the heat and humidity, increasing the ventilation. You can always block off holes when the temps drop again.

I'm not impossible. I'm being improbable.
