Just a question, is it in any way legal to keep local species.
Saw 1 of these on another forum and love them.

If legal, is anyone here keeping any of these beauties.

Yup. Legal to keep, might depend on the province you're in, but they are legal to keep in general. As far as I know, the only arachnids you can't keep are the following:
Spiders

Augacephalus sp
Ceratogyrus sp
Pternochilus sp
Harpactira sp

Scorpions

Hadogenes sp
Opisthacanthus sp
Opisthalmus sp

P.S Maybe there are more that are illegal, but there are a few baboon spiders which are also apparently "legal" to keep without permits

Can find them in most places. They're quite small, but if you're lucky, one might be in your garden

Quick question while we're on the topic of local spiders....

Is it legal to keep Black Widows?
If so does any one have any care info on these guys?

Thanks ;)

True spiders may be kept, so yes you may keep the black widows.

Keep the spider as it would be in the wild.
It is an arboreal and makes really thick strained webbing.

They don't tend to hunt on the floor so dropping the prey item into the webbing.
Mist every 4 days or give a water source.

Give the spider branches or a piece of bark so spider can anchor for th spinning of the web
