One of the reasons may be that I've had a terrible time trying to login, and maybe others have had the same problem and just gave up. Is the hobby even alive in South Africa anymore? What happened to everybody? This forum is like a ghost town!

Everyone moved to whatsapp groups and although we tried to get the forum going again, there just doesn't seem to be any interest.

Any idea how to get access to these WhatsApp Group's Taki? Great hearing from you, how have you been doing? Feels like forever since I was last on the Forum. What is new, what is interesting, and what have I missed out on after all these years???

The hobby is Alive, but the ghost town was brought on by a few aspects, firstly facebook, every tom and harry starting a group about tarantulas but even facebook groups are busy dying out and only get spammed by for sale posts and add me to a watsapp group these days.

And the biggest killer is watsapp groups. Every tom, sally and harry with a cellphone number starts a group and then shares it, it is the age of asking the question and forget the answer in 10mins..

People have gotten even lazier and really do not want to do the research and reading online anymore, at this moment in time the hobby is the dumbest it been ..
I even delete and block people on FB the moment they share or ask for watsapp groups..

The other small problem, the few breeders who retired from the hobby left a small hole in the supply and demand and reasonable prices, the new breeders are just stupid with pricing, common easy to breed tarantulas are just over priced these days.
The new blood is also doing damage to the hobby, profit over love for the tarantulas and hobby..
