Bad Molt? was created by Gavin
First off, Hi everyone, hope to learn alot from everyone and this forum about Tarantulas.

I have a Chaco Golden Knee that I got from a friend the beginning of this year. Things have gone great with her (I learnt that it is a her till the final molt :) ) but something changed. Yesterday morning around 8 she started to molt. The night before there were no indication of her going into molt though. And according to keeping track, she seems 15 days earlier molt than usual.

Anyway, so there she was, on her back, and around 4-ish she was done, but we noticed something not right.

It looks like she struggles to get up. Her legs looked very weak and later the night (10 ish) I checked and the one leg seemed "limp", tucked up close to the carapace. She looks weak though and not sure what to do.

Any ideas or help will be appreciated.

Welcome.

Chaco Golden Knee - Grammostola pulchripes

I learnt that it is a her till the final molt

If it's a female, she does not have a final moult (except the one just before she dies).

she seems 15 days earlier molt than usual.

There is no fixed time between moults, to many variants.

Her entire new exuvium is very soft. Give her a week or so and see if she becomes "normal". Hopefully she does...

Most people are like clouds. The sun comes out when they f*ck off...

Like Scarab said, just relax this is normal for T's. Take a look at the fangs, you will find they are white and soft. When the fangs turn black the rest of the exuvium will probably also be hard/normal again.

She will be fine, they are always limp after they have molted.
Molting is a stressful time for a T so leave her alone for the next week.
She will be fine though. Dont stress.

Thanks so much. It's my first one and didn't notice it this much before. Just worried we lose her coz of something stupid. Rather make sure. Will keep an eye on her and keep you posted!
