Long story short.
Wife sprayed my spider directly with Surgical spirits and also his cage. She phoned me... rushed home. Move the little guy to a new temp cage while cleaning the other one.

Spider is no moving erratic. Jerking movements and not smooth as usual.
Any advise?

Should i rinse him off in the shower? Dip him in a bath?
Just leave him?

Please, i have been raising this little guy for 7 years now.

My advice wuld be to put him in an ICU, Ask one of the older more experienced members to tell you how to make one the right way.

Definately dont dunk it in the bath or shower him, most T's hate getting wet by even a spray bottle.

All you can do is put it in an ICU asap!!!!!!!. Its moving like that because its been poisoned and affecting its nervous system.
Not much you can do Im afraid but wait. Not a good situation and not sure if it will make it, sorry dude.

Make sure there is a shallow water bowl available in the temp enclosure.

Although NEVER recommended, I would use a water spray gun and spray directly onto the spider. The droplets must be minute, almost mist like. Although the bristles will repel the water, it might also dilute/rinse the alcohol residue from its body. I would do this twice or three times, then let it be. Make sure there is a perch (rock) for it to climb onto should the substrate become to wet. (As I said, this is what I would do).

Now onto your wife. A good leisurely spanking will be required... (As I said, this is what I would do).

ICU is simple.

Get a clean container... Make sure its clean and dont use any chemicals to wash it, just water. Add a layer of tissue paper at the bottom instead of substrate. Dampen the tissue dont wet it. It shouldn't be soggy just damp!!! Make sure there is good ventilation ie lots of holes. Keep the temperature up and constant at 26 or so degrees.

Sure other might add to the setup... everyone has there own little tricks

My first instinct was to place him in a Tupperware container with moist Toilet paper to create a humid area.
Wife saying he stopped moving around and is just chilling on the side of container.

Think this is a good indication that he might make it. I really hope so.
Will read up on how to make an ICU for the little guy.

Just to give background how this came to be.
Our cat had a serious infection from fighting. All shops, vets closed i had to do a makeshift disinfectent. of the wound late saterday night.I drained the abscess on the cats neck, squeezing out thick puss buildup and generally nasty stuff. Unable to get normal disinfectant into the deep wound i threw alcohol / surgical spirits into my spray bottle, diluted it with water.

This helped the cat. Wound is now healing nicely.
However... do no mention details of "do not use this spray bottle" when your wife is half asleep.
