Vent Cap was created by Mark
So Ive been on the hunt for vent caps for the past week or so and it seems that everyplace it try either has no idea what I'm talking about or has no stock.

So the idea came to me to use a mesh and then just stick a large washer or something over it to cover the edges, but I couldnt get a good looking washer big enough. Then I was going to cut the washer out of alu on my CNC router. Then it occurred to me to cut the whole thing on the cnc.

So I designed and cut one out of white styrene (abs) plastic and it came out well. I could actually use that one as is... But then I decided to do one in some clear perspex I had lying around:

I think it came out awesome. This one is a little rough cos I was rushing the machine, but I can set the finishing passes finer and it should come out alot smoother.

I will get some glass over the next couple of days and make an enclosure with this one and post a pic. :D

What would the cost be if one would ask you to make some of those. They look real good.

Instead of making perspek vents on a glass enclosure ,why don't you rather make a perspeks enclosure and drill air holes on the enclosure?

I'm not sure... How many are you looking for? Right now it takes 12 minutes to mill each one, but I'm sure I could tweak that down.

Perspex scratches too easily. Its really not an ideal material for tanks and anything you would handle. Besides that you pay R350 per square meter of Perspex and R100 for glass.

And glass is recyclable  so you know what to do with old tanks .
