Hi everyone,

Do any of you kind folks know where I can find glass that is cut to size and also could have air vent holes cut into them to fit my two fish tanks that i converted to T homes?

I have plastic covers at the moment, but one of them already cracked and I don't want my T's roaming the house without me knowing it.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

The sizes are:

1. 30cm (L) X 22.5cm (W)
2. 60cm (L) X 20cm (W) [estimated size]

1. currently houses my B. Boehmei and 2. is the future home of my N. Chromatus

Hi Six, just go to your local glass place, like Glassfit etc, with your measurements. They will cut it for you and can drill holes in the top up to around 22 mm. Use at least 4mm glass, for strength and stick a long thin piece diagonally across with aquarium silicon, like the tanks you buy from pet shops.

would it be worth it cutting glass to a custom size? I mean price wise, would it not be better just to buy new/ready made enclosures?

At most, probably wont pay more than R50 for getting the glass cut and drilled and erased.

to buy a tank at 30 X 22 X 22 you would pay +/- R40
The bigger tank you looking at about +/- R120

Do any of the forum members sell custom built enclosures as I'll need an arboreal enclosure for my P. Regalis and a terrestrial one for my B. Vagans in a while. I'm not too hasty about it though, as they are still very tiny.

I was thinking of maybe getting a round shaped (almost vase like) enclosure, which opens at the top and bottom for versatility, for the P. Regalis. has anybody tried it before?

That is the best option, but it does not hurt to have more than one enclosure ready, you will end up using them regardless.

If you wait for the Expo in March you will be able to get some nice arboreal tanks at some nice prices.
