I bought myself a piece of plexiglass, 2x plastic hinges, 1x plastic padlock fitting, and some resin ("fiberglass glue").
1. Cut the plexiglass to fit your aquarium (terrarium to be), you can give 5mm extra on the sides and on the front.
2. Glue the hinges to the "soon to be lid", making sure there is enough space for them to open and close once attached to the tank.
3. Once the glue is "touch-dry", place it on tank, position it squarely, and mark the areas where the hinges will be connected to the tank, apply glue to those areas, and then you put the lid in place, and press the hinges into the glue.
Depending on the padlock fitting you buy, you should be able to assemble it along with the hinges.
Before assembling everything, drill some holes in the lid for ventilation.
It looks awesome once its done!!!
:woohoo:
