I would consider asking someone on the forum, closest to where you stay (If possible).

I stay in Pretoria, if anyone ever wanted a T-Sitter.

Expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are good is like expecting the bull not to charge because you are a vegetarian.

yeah i agree. rather have someboday who knows what they are doing and how to handle t's than somebody with no experience. you don't want something bad to happen when you not around.

@anthrax, makes sense to get someone who is comfortable with Ts.

In the Tarantula Keeper's Guide it says that going away for up to 2 weeks should not be a problem, as long as you feed them well before leaving and make sure they have water. maybe just get some to check on the water situation, food is not a real concern.

+1 Warren

If you trust somebody else with your T's, there is always the possibility of something going wrong, like a T' dying while "boarding". It is very unfortunate for both sides involved. Before the T's go on a holiday, these things need to be discussed to be prepared for such a case.

I went away for about 2 weeks and a bit in december last year .. I feed my TS before I left ..and wet the substrate abit

I got my mom to add water for me every 4 days to make sure it does not dry up .. I used a syrange with a plastic pipe on the end (the ones you get for fish pumps for air )
so My Mom did not have to open the containers up to much to give them water..

And I had no worries ?
