CHECK LIST B4 YOU LEAVE FOR VACATION was created by Usumbara
Hey everyone, this time of the year everyone is getting ready to leave for a holiday at the coast and some will end up somewhere inland :woohoo:

Ever thought what damage ANTS can do to a well established breeder/keeper's precious tarantulas.

If I recall correctly we've had a similar thread.

Can we please have some pointers before we do go on vacation:
Two things that comes to immediately are:

1. How to keep ants at bay.
2. Keeping Roach colonies mite free and hydrated.

@sky27
make sure they are fed and they have water before you leave, most people feed their T's once a week anyways.

So for a week, it no problem.
I feed my spiders 2 to 3 weeks.

If you are going to feed them before you go them, feed them 2 days before you leave, just to give you a chance to clean there tanks out of any left overs, uneaten prey and bolus..
But your spiders will be ok if you don't feed them for a week.

With regards to watering them,just flood/ wet the substrate and they will be fine for the week you gone away for.
Also you can give them a water dish if you really are worried about that.

Awesome advice Cascade. :)
What do you mean by the above sentence. Do you feed your T's once in 2 to 3 weeks? Or are you saying they need not be fed at a time for 2-3 weeks?
