Went outside to see what the dogs were fussing about and found this gogga. Thought it was worth a mention :)

This is by far the biggest bug I have ever seen!

We find the same ones, every now and then, on the farm in Bela Bela. Mostly after some heavy rain, if anyone knows what the are, I'd like to know too. Impressive size

Hi

Tithoes confinis or commonly Giant longhorn.

The larvae feed on Cashew Nut trees and Marulas. Also Wild Plum trees

Very nice find.

When I was staying at my Freinds uncles farm in Limpopo, I found two of these. My friend wouldn't go near me when I was carrying them and they stuggle like hell. Anyone know if these are legal to keep without permits because they are awesome little buggers. Bite like hell too.

Thanks Zophos!

This one was aggro as anything but understandable after fending off the dogs.

I wonder, if the larvae feed on commercial crops whether they are considered a pest?

Is fun living on the farm. You never know what you're going to see next. This morning there was a huge crab winning a staring contest with the creepy hehe!
