I have read that you can accurately sex C. schioedtei by ventral colouration. One of my specimens molted into a 7 -8cm beauty. It has a beautiful velvety black underbelly. Apparently this means it is a female. The males go a khaki colour. I'm just not sure at what size this becomes 100% accurate. It's a little confusing, because this particular spider is the fastest growing sibling of 5. I thought males grew faster??

I have also read that from about 8cm you can start to tell the difference between male and female by the ventral coloration

Not true.
I have had many female siblings outgrow males by a country mile.

Yeah, it feels good to have a confirmed female. She is quite pretty as well, and not as mean as some of the others I have. There is one in particular, that has a serious attitude problem. LOL!

I've sold one, but I'm sure there will be a male amongst the other 3. I just need the others to molt now to confirm.
