So I bought 3 H.Incei from Tim a while back, these 3 are roughly 6-7cm's. Then came that much talked about tarantula auction, I bought a mini communal from Cerat, 7 all together. They are now around 4-5cm's, so there is a size difference. I have put them all in an enclosure together and so far no fatalities!

The larger ones were introduced on the right side of the tank and the smaller ones on the left, they have started explosring and seem to be comfortable with the new roomies.

In my experience, these T's need aquite a good amount of deep substrate as they do like to create nice intricate fossorial tunnels.
Maybe its just me, but i have started to think that they are not the geatest spiders to keep communally, in fact, i have started to think that they are not communal AT ALL. I have tried them in large tanks, i have tried them in small tanks and i have always ended up wih only one survivor.
I would like to know if anyone else has a bad experience with incies?

My gf had 3 slings and introduced them together, after 2 weeks, only 1 left :( . My experience so far has been much kinder. i put just 3 in this tank so they never actually got in each others way. They have reached a good size together so for me to put in 5 smaller ones was a risk. It seems to have paid though, all have there own little setups going.

I did clean the tank completely before introducing the little ones, if I didn't, I doubt they would have survived the night. The substrate is about 6cm's deep so lets see how they manage :)
