Hey all,
I got myself a C.Huahini last week 2.5cm. While searching the web i found that there is not a lot of info on this species. What I do know is that it is a very fast spider, it can be compared to a OBT.
It is also a very aggressive spider, even launching attacks at the food held in my tweezer. At 2.5cm, this TS eats like a monster. It has eaten 2 crickets, 1 roach and 2 worms in the past week....that is a huge amount for TS at this size.
It is currently in a 80mm x 80mm glass cube and the tunnels it makes with its web is some of the best I have seen. (imagine a Hamster cage with its tunnels)
The C.Huahini grows to 22cm when fully grown which makes it part of the larger species of TS.
It is also speculated that this spider can be Terestrial or aborial. Some say it webs like a OBT but this info is from hear say.
I have seen a young adult female C.Huahini web a cage like a Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens would.
This spider is not for a beginner and it requires some nerves to care as It will go for anything touching its web.
It is also my most interesting TS at the moment because it is very busy and it keeps me on my toe's.
I would encourage any hardy TS collector to get one, as a collection would be incomplete without one of these beauties!
If anybody know or have a care sheet or any more info on these please feel free to share as there is not much known about them, even when I asked at local pet shops.
