Avairies for tarantulas was created by Milty
Hi There all

I am new to the game and have a couple of tarantulas
I am a woodworker and would like to know if there is plans available for building a cupboard with drawers so that one can pack your glass aviaries in so that i can house my babies in

I would like to start a system from the word go so that i can stock and have my babies organized and cause as little as possible discomfort to them

I will use full extension bearing runners, so that can handle weight

i have started with small glass aviaries 100 x 100 x 100mm, the second set is 150 x 150 x 150 and the last will be 300 x 300 x 300

So this will set the format

I would really appreciate any assistance in this regard

All I can really add is that the small enclosures (10x10x10) isn't used for very long for most species.
So you will have to move the slings to larger enclosures pretty soon.

I have a windowsill full of old enclosures :)

But I think it is a good idea.
At my LPS they have a very nice case for all their glass enclosures, with integrated heating cord and ventilation fans for cooling if required.

Hi Milty.

I have recently designed a cupboard I think would work for mature species both arboreal and terrestrial. Perhaps you could use this idea maybe even quote me for one. What wood would you plan on using.

I will e-mail you a PDF tomorrow if you like. This was designed in AutoCAD Inventor.

0.0.1 L Parahybana
0.0.1 P Irminia
0.0.1 G Pulchripes
0.0.1 H Maculata
0.0.1 C Cyaneopubescens
0.0.1 B Albopilosum

Hi Tazzmanian
Thank you for your feed back, I am very keen to see what you have designed,I use google sketchup
Pdf format will be great! Thanks

I am looking at either using Marine ply, this will be a thin wall thickness +- 9mm
Or better yet, will be shutterply as i can get some beautiful quality wall thickness 16 to 19mm this will make one hell of a great cabinet
Also would like to put this cabinet on wheels so that it is completely mobile
Cheers and thanks
