OK, you got a bit of interest sparked in me :drunk:

See Carien, if you were to attempt paring these two species and you succeeded, you could theoriteically disprove the taxonomists who classified these species (Stromatopelma and Poecilotheria) as this mating proves that they are, in fact, not only from the same genus, but from the same sub-family!

Let me clarify again. im not completely against hybridising, im against the culling that would surely ensue.

How about OBT and trinidad chevron (not worthy of scientific names), they would be legal to keep then stir :dad uzi noob

You would have to have a egg sack and slings from them though, to prove anything.

I think any male will tap and any female will respond, I also think any male will mate with a female,
That what they are there for.

Of course the big issue even with the dog breeds.......... sure, we created some fabulous breeds BUT, they are only fabulous for our human purposes..... we did nothing for nature did we?

You can take an Aphonopelma to crickets but you can't make it eat!

Yes, its very responsible of you posting on the forum all these great hybrids you plan on making :rock
Heck, if the moderators are doing it , then lets all join in and brag about it on the forum because its for science anyway. :rock :rock
Lol, just came to see the rufi video and could not resist stirring up some trouble :P

Ok thanks for your presence we gracefully wanted, but i think you and and alot of other members are missing
the point where im coming from.

First of all I never once said, i am definetly going to do cross breeding but simply gave ideas that would interest
the average hobbiest
as to see the outcome of a bizzare hybrid..

Ok, i think i get you now. You want to get the hobby interested in breeding hybrids for the sake of curiosity.
Do you honestly think you are positively influencing the newer members and the hobby.
Why not conduct the experiment in private and maybe publish your findings when you have Created something 'wonderful'.
Please provide the link to the thread where i claim to be hybridising pulchras.
Thanks and good luck cause i'm out from this topic :silly:
