This is a very sad day for me in the hobby. For some reason (still need to try and find out why) my L violaceopes died. All seem(ed) fine in the enclosure, so I am extremely confused as how this could have happened.

Damn, sorry dude. I know what that feels like.

Less than two weeks ago, my 5cm C. fimbriatus died, also for no apparent reason.
The encolsure was highly webbed so I didn't see it the day before, but two days before it seemed to be moving around normally at night.
No obvious signs of environmental problems, and no physical symptoms I could identify, so I also have no idea why it died.

Let us know if you ever find a possiblity of why yours might have died.

I will definitely post something if I can figure out what happened.

All I saw that was odd was that its abdomen was dented inwards. Not sure why. It ate well... So it doesn't make sense.

Hey uncle Charlie.
Very sorry about your loss man. It's been a tough few months for Ayal and I too.

Could u share what conditions it was kept at? Was there a water bowl? Also what size/age was the T?

@Panama

Bought it at the last SOS expo from the tarantulas.co.za stall.
Was about 2cm (max if i had to guess).
Was in a typical small arboreal enclosure.
Light misting was done once a week.
No water bowl as T was to small.
Fed it once a week crickets but about a month ago went over to roaches.
Found a roach hidden in the subtrate when i emptied out the enclosure, thus meaning it didnt eat last weeks food.
Kept it with all my other slings in a bigger wooden enclosure for reptiles with 2 small heatpads against the sides.

Do you perhaps spot any mistake on my behalf?

The one I'm keeping is being kept the same way, also from tarantulas.co.za..... It seems to be doing ok so far though. You never know what happens with such a small T though.
