Hey folks,
I recently bought an A.avicularia for someone, and while admiring it I noticed something which concerns me a little. Now the reason this would concern is due to the words this people uttered while having a chat:

"I feed my Ts till their butts are big and shiny, and then they moult."

Sounds like power feeding to me...

Anyway, I've notice that the pedipalps of the A.avicularia are looking rather club-like towards their tips. The T is about 7-8cm, but can this be a sign of being mature due to power feeding? Or does this species normally have the club-like pedipalps?

Im not expecting it to moult anytime soon, but could this also be a poor indication of its sex?

Thanks

-EDIT-

Here's a picture of the T in question:
Notice the pedipalps.

Avics tend to have larger rounded "toes". But they are flat, not like clubs.

Have a look at these pics.
The very first one is my confirmed female Avic isla margarita.

Compare these pics to what you have.

Power feeding is a long discussion that you should find when searching as it is discussed often.
Here is one such thread:

Thanks SynergyZA.

I have seen the feet do look bigger on the last segment, and agree that they are flat. But im specifically looking at the pedipalps, and not the feet. :)

Do you have a picture?
My P metallica male's pedipalps only developed the clubs at the very last molt. No indication aside from the exuvium and darker colours that it was male before the final molt.
My P cambridgei male and female are the same size (approx. 8-9cm) and I can't see any difference whatsoever. Perhaps the male's carapace is slightly flatter.

Some males do mature pretty small, however...

Which is why I'd like to find out what you guys think. Maybe someone wants to breed :) and needs a MM.

SynergyZA, I'll take a photo this evening and add it here.
