Hey so my uncle lives in the Western Cape and keeps scorpions is he allowed to keep them or same thing goes for the scorpions as the tarantulas NOT ALLOWED and if he can keep them does he need a permit?
Tell him to contact Western Cape nature conservation and enquire with them.
My guess would be that Buthids would be allowed but not scorpions from the families Ischnuridae (eg.Hadogenes) or Scorpionidae (eg.Opistophthalmus) as they fall under TOPS and are protected across the whole country.
