Im not sure whats wrong with my Brachypelma Vagans as it has not eaten for about 2-3 weeks. Im not sure how long it takes them to molt. any suggestions?
As long as it is not looking overly skinny, I wouldn't worry too much.
There have been cases where spiders have fasted for close to 2 years before moulting.
If it is big enough to have a water bowl, just make sure it is filled or else try mist one side of the enclosure once a week.
Patience is the key.
From what I can see, it's not in premolt.
I can't see the full size of the tanks it's in but it does seem a little small, maybe stress is a factor? By the looks of it he/she is flicking a lot of hairs.
Does he/she have a place to hide?
It's prob nothing to worry about tho..
Well i have never seen him flick hairs. and the guy at the petshop said he would be fine in that tank, but i bought him a bigger tank yesterday coz i though well if he is going to molt he will need a bigger tank.
the only stuff i have in his tank currently is a piece of drift wood and his water bottel. the size of his tank is 250mm x 150mm. he is about between 7 and 8cm. Would this be too small for him?
I will have him by tonight or tomorrow in his new tank.I think the new tank size is 300mm x 400mm.
