Where do you keep your enclosures to ensure they get enough sunlight and heat, without cooking them to death?

My tanks are all stacked next to the window, where there is enough ambient light coming through without any direct sunshine overheating the tanks. I was just wondering what the ideal placement for the tanks should be, for tarantulas and scorpions.

My Emperor scorpion is kept in the corner, where the sun doesn't shine directly on its tank, as I've read the UV light can harm them. However, I'm worried she doesn't get enough heat.

I use shelves as they are well above the suns rays and just about any table all out of direct sunlight

What is the heat in the room they are kept in?

In summer your room temp is fine for your scorpions and tarantulas it is just winter when they need to be heated.
Just keep there humidity up and they will be fine, also fresh water and mist regularly
If they are still eating and on the odd occasion do some exploring then they fine.

With regards to your spider they do not need much light, or to be heated in summer.

We moved our T's to the pantry (it has open doors, good ventilation and decent light) when we went away for a few days because we were worried about them overheating in the study. Since we moved them they're out and about all the time, moving around and much more aggressive in "hunting" their food. Needless to say, they're staying right where they are!

I'd guess anywhere where your T's seem happy is fine as long as you're not freezing /frying them or keeping them in complete darkness all the time?

I recently moved my T's from my TV stand to a shelve below a window in my house facing east covered with blinds. They get the morning sun (through the blinds) and are doing much better than they were when they weren't getting any sun at all.
