Here's something interesting that happened to me last night. Perhaps you have had the same?
6cm A. Geniculata first feeding - 7 days after molt.
I thought I would gently lower in a roach with the 10cm stainless forceps, the same way as I do my Avic.
About 2 cm from substrate, the spider jumped up and hit the forceps really hard ,sent the roach flying and got stuck on the tongs. I left it for about 20 minutes to see if it will get unstuck by itself, but in the end had to carefully prise the fangs off that were clamped solidly around the forceps.
No fluid leaks and it took another roach 5 minutes after this 'ordeal'.
I doubt I'll be using forceps with the feeding again. Amazing how strong even this little spider is!
I'm not impossible. I'm being improbable.
