Far from every T out there.
It's mostly tarantulas from the subfamily Aviculariinae and a few others.
In a sense he is right to suggest that avics are a bad choice for noobs. Very needy spiders.

I think that noobs should rather consider the well being of the tarantula and their ability to fully provide for it rather than worry about the potential danger the Ts can inflict on US. Remember that humans are the most successful predators ;)
