The best advice I ever had was to put the pin heads or small roaches (the non-climbing kind) into a glass and use the glass to pour them into the slings tub.

They can't climb up the glass and if you shake it around a bit before pouring they just fall out instead of jumping out

getting them into the glass :dry: that I will leave up to you :laugh:

I agree with Karin, if the old enclosure is small enough to fit in the new one, just put it in, take out excess webbing in the old enclosure and leave the T to get out by itself, or try to coax it out.

If the old enclosure is too big, go to Westpack and buy the biggest container you can find! Put both enclosures in the container take of both lids and enjoy directing traffic! Just keep the lid of the big container close by, just in case they decide to run for it! We have our breeding pair P.cambridgei's in the big container, and we haven't had that much trouble getting them back to their enclosures. And the paintbrushes and pliers/tweezers are a very good idea!

For the crickets - We use medicine bottles to trap/catch the medium/large crickets. We also keep our crickets in big containers, so they won't be able to jump out, even if they are Olympic medalists! A trick for the pinheads (haven't tried it before, but it's on my to-do list!) - Take a straw, put a piece of organza/chiffon material on/in the mouth end, and suck up the crickets! Then you can let them walk out/blow them out into the T's enclosure.

Good luck, re-housing is very stressful!

With regards to feeding pinhead and other small crickets to your T's, this is what I use.

It's basically a small container used for slings and 2 pieces of aquarium air tubing and is very easy to construct.




One end is placed over the crickets and the other one is used to suck the crickets into the container. From there it's is very easy to feed the spiders.

A weird but effective way i realized when working at a fish store when moving arboreal spiders like Pokies P.Cambridgei etc.... Use a Siphon

It's those pipes They use to clean fish tanks... Looks like this:



Basically remove that piping and your just left with the tube... They come in all different sizes. Put it over the spider gently (Works when he is at the bottom of the tank in defense position aswell)... Touch him and he will run up the siphon.

Then all you have to do is take the siphon and put it over the next tank and blow out the little whole at the top of the siphon and from you breath he will run straight out of the siphon into his new home
