So after not disturbing/picking up my 1 cm B. vagans' enclosure/container for about 3 weeks after it started to refuse food, I decided to check on it last night. To my joy to find that it has molted.

I could see the exuvia and it seems already dried out. There is about 3cm of substrate in the container and the T has made a deep burrow(the entrance is still closed up with some substrate) right to the bottom of the container.

I'm not entirely sure when it molted, so I dropped a pinhead cricket into the container to see if the T would take the prey. This morning the cricket was still visible so I removed the cricket again.

My question is, should I try and take out the exuvia or is it safe to leave it as is? noob

The T will probable stay in the container for another 2 molts at the most.

It will be fine to leave the molt with the spider, eventually the spider will clean house and remove the molt from it's burrow.

As long as the spiders burrow is still webbed up it means the spider does not want to be disturbed, the spider will come out when it has had a chance to harden up and it is ready.

You can wait a week before trying to give her another prey item, just mist her enclosure.

Or you can be "naughty" (overly concerned for the safety of your spider :eyepoke: ) and dig her up and remove the molt! noob :spider: The only way one learns is to try something once, and pretty soon you will know and understand your spider so never be scared of taking a look and testing the waters.

But your spider will be fine.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not going to bother the T, so I'll wait and see what happens.
It's my smallest sling so not going to take any chances.
