Hi everyone,

It's officially time to rally together all the help I can muster, my male X.immanis molted out into an 18cm+ thing of beauty :side: with huge tibial hooks and clubbed pedipalps. He is much bigger than the female at this point, she's around 16cm or so.

Female: ± 16cm
Last molted: 06/09/2011
Feeding: Dubia Roaches and Crickets (Mixed Diet) She takes food almost every day.

Male: 18cm+ (Old exuvium is 18cm exactly)
Molted: 31/12/2011
Feeding: Have not fed him since molting but will feed soon.
Sperm web: Not yet.

Temps: T room fluctuates between 20 (night) and 30 (day) degrees
Male Enclosure: Simple 30cm tank with peat and water Dish. Humidity 80%+
Female Enclosure: Large 90cm tank with large cave/burrow buried under peat, water dish and single silk plant decoration in one corner. Humidity 80%+

Research: I have written to Robc, Swift inverts an other european breeders for help, I have checked out YouTube videos and done a lot of web searching for info on breeding this species but nobody seems keen to share any info. I have researched local weather conditions in Columbia and also in an area of South America where they can also be found in case it leads to some helpful tips but to no avail.

This species has a sad breeding record and from what I can tell very few are successful so one would imagine that breeders would be willing to offer ANY help that might lead to a successful mating and egg case, however info remains scarce. ( = prices stay high?)

SO SUPER PLEASE! If you have any advice or tips that might help with breeding this species, please let me know, and with any luck we might see some of these on the market in the near future.

Pretty sure no one has ever bred them in the Southern Hemisphere (that i have heard of anyway), so guess you are the guinea pig.
Doubt you will get any helpful info here from the site, so guess its experiment time.
Try keep as much recorded, and hopefully you have luck. Try keep the male alive as long as possible as you might need him if the female moults out especially as she is still relatively small compared to the male.

Mammon might be selling a breeding pair early this year. On his site he had pictures of a pair during breeding. Maybe he has had success. The pics on his site are usually taken at Mammon's.
