Is it only the female H. minax that gets that jet black? That male is tiny, and a bit on the drab side. If I didn't know better, I would have thought they were 2 different species.

and im sure if you breed her befor molting you would be missing a MF
in your collection she could probebly die and the you have to hand rear that sack
so i agree with dave rather wait and then try again

Its definitely a minax. The lividum mature males also look similar to the minax, very different from the females, and soooo much smaller in size. Stretching out that female is about 18cm, really massive, the male is about 10cm.
