Yeah should be fine, you can actually breed spiders at a younger age than most people would assume. Give it a shot and see what happens.

What exactly is 3 inches? If it's the Diagonal Leg Span (DLS), no it almost surely isn't mature. If that's the body length, it's almost mature or just now becoming mature.

Maturity and molting frequency are not closely linked, although it is true that by the time a tarantula is sexually mature it is also only molting once a year. For most tarantulas there is a period before they are mature that they are old enough and large enough to be molting once a year for up to several years depending on a wide assortment of other factors.

Why do you want to breed a B.vagans? waist of time in my opinion, in South Africa that is.
1) They been way over bred.
2) No one is going to buy them.
3) If you do sell you will be LUCKY to get R5 a sling maybe even R2 even for free people don't want.
4) In the light of the above you going to have 500-1000 slings. Are you going to keep them all when no one buys?

Sorry to p!ss on your parade but these are the things you have to think about when breeding.
