When talking about spiders that stridulate, it is a "hissing" sound that certain spiders produce, normally in defensive behaviour.
The sound is normally produced from their mouth parts.
Some spiders that are known to stridulate : T.blondi, C.crawshayi(King baboon),Chilobrachys, Lasiodora...
Local baboons spiders are also well known for this.

T Blondi's stridulate by rubbing together special stidulatory organs (setae that have a special shape in this case) on their legs together.
Most tarantulas and baboon spiders stridulate by rubbing their legs together.
True spiders have a more varied approach, from using their abdomens, chelicerae or even spinnerets!
the local baboons species and my Pamphobeteus that stridulate sound like the "sss" sound in a Cape Town "HoSSSSShhhh ek se"
