:blink: :blush: :side: :S im a bit confused.... can a spider be gay or change their sex during a molt. and is it possible to mate either 2 male or 2 female , that includes doing all the tapping and twitching on the "so called females web" and she response positive to the mating call and eventully molting out into a male

Yip happened to me, bought a lasiadora as a "female" mated "her" then molted into a male... Apparently it's happened to a few people on the forum.

Only a MATURE male with emboli on his palps (and the optional "hooks") will mate with a female. Immature male specimens will not mate.
I have personally witnessed a mating take place between a MM and an IM that was believed to be a MF. It's happened to lots of people.

Contrary to the beliefs of a certain stubborn expo attendee, a spider cannot change it sex at any point.
