Well, thought you all might appreciate this...

Some of you know that I was buying my boyfriend a gaboon viper... well the guy dropped me! After spending R2200.00 at Petstop buying his enclosure and exstras.

However cursing at the sky screaming at people all day long...(sorry my friends) didn't help.

But, what happend the following day...

My friend Daneel, (some of you might know him, he worked at Petstop) called me and told me he had 4 Gaboon vipers for R1000.00 plus enclosures! And the best part!!! They are breeding pares, all 4 with an impressive length of 1.4 meters!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

It is a sad sale, they guys wife got pregnant and told him to get rid of the snakes. She's happy so am I !!!

If my boyfriend does not ask me to marry him after this present I am leaving his ass!!!

R1000 for all 4? That is either the deal of a lifetime or a highly appealing scam. If it is legit, huge congrats - Gaboon vipers have to be the most stunning of all the Bitis species. My grandfathers best man was the 2nd recorded bite case from a Gaboon way back in the day - he was hiking alone in the bush in Sierra Leone when he was bitten, got into his landrover and made it half way to the nearest city before passing out and going off the road. Luckilly someone found him and got him to a hospital, it saved his life but the extent of the tissue damage sustained was incredible.
