Nope Scarab, the bulb is more than a good 30-50cm away from the tank and not directly on it. Just the spot where he is, not much light at night except for the heat lamp. I have to keep them in my garage so warming the area up with heater pads and a red heat lamp during the winter months is my only option. I am well aware of frying my T's thats why I keep them a healthy distance from said lamp, just close enough to absorb some mild warmth. Some of them have been thriving there for their second and some their third winter in this situation and are happy, active on most days and eat regularly. Only thing is I have to sometime check on the tanks with smaller water bowls every day sometimes twice a day. I work from home so its no issue for me.
