Hey all, so my B.Smithi moulted about 2 month's ago, but now she has got a big bald patch on her bum but she as never kicked hair's and cant be close to another moult!

I would like to know what is the reason for this happening so soon?

How big is the T's abdomen? Sometime it happens when over feeding your T, the abdomen stretches and thus leaving a blank spot.
- Or the T may be rubbing the enclosure with hairs (defense mechanism)
- Or the T loses hair because of irritation (that you don't see)

But I don't think it is something to be worried about, and all will be ok again with the next molt.

Why do you think there needs to be a reason? WE go bald without a good reason! (To clarify, we know what makes us go bald, but we're clueless as to WHY we do so. I. e., what advantage might there be to going bald?)

The bristles that they lose are attached very loosely. They literally drop off by themselves. Just about any sort of contact with just about anything will knock them off. The fact that they were lost means nothing.

And, they'll be replaced the next time it molts.

I have noticed my B.Smithi keeps on climbing against the enclosure's glass , so no doubt he got bold by falling off it the whole time , To answer the first question that is going to be ask: No, the substrate is not too moist and yes , there is a bark in its enclosure to sit on if the substrate was too wet

Can this be normal or is something irritating him?

My three B. smithi also sit against the glass for extended periods of time, and then they decide to burrow a bit and disappear for a while. Not sure why, but if I've got a heat source they will go up against the side where it's warmer.

Check the enclosure for mites just in case they are irritating your T. My Smithis both moulted in the last week, and both had little round bald spots before they moulted. It's actually cool because as the bald areas and the rest of the abdomen go darker, you know the next moult is getting closer
