I recently acquired a B. Boehmei. A fantastic looking specimen, but the most skittish T I have ever come across. It's actually funny the way it carries on. I wouldn't dream of handling it. Not at this neurotic stage of it's life. I have a GBB, that are considered a much more skittish and defensive species, yet is fairly easy to handle.

They really do have individual characters. Oh, the Fireleg molted recently. So maybe that is the common denominator.

As a species they are normally rather docile but then again I have a togo starburst which I can handle any day and most people will tell you never try. In summary the species should give you a genereal idea of their temperament but the individual has its own personality... and if its a female it may change from day to day just like in human life

I have 5 B.vagans. 1 x 12cm, 1 x 6cm and 3 x 2-3cm

I have noticed they all get their "off" times. They get mood swings for periods of time. I always joke at home saying it's like my wife... :dry: ...hope she doesn't read this...

One day you can do whatever in my enclosures, but the next day... :blink: ...be warned...

Personalities are dependent on the spider, the all vary, I have an angry Avic Avic?!? But yet my 13 or so cm female B.Vagans is so chilled its crazy :blink:

Well then it must be a male.. cuz "he's" permanently grumpy! :laugh:

My "Unknown" (check forum for indentify topic from me..) is chilled out to the max! lol.. don't think I've even seen it make the motion to try flick hair! lol.. avic avic is quite relaxed also thank goodness.. grumpy and super fast.. not good combo! lol
