Hi all I never new this but my 1st instar P.fasciatas drink and want water. I was under the opinion that they only require food/water from 2nd instar, and humidity was all they needed but I was wrong. I noticed the the ones who have wondered around the cage are huge in abdomen size compared to the ones who chill on the incubator lid. I was wondering how this can be and I noticed one drinking water so I though I would put a small puddle on the stocking to see if any would drink the "skinny ones" lol and to my surprise they all ran to the puddle/water drop and drank. I never new this at all!!!!!! Amazing how small things are great. So I guess 1st instar actually need water to drink.

Yip, 1st instars definately drink, they just don't eat.

Nice pics... Are you sure they are 1st instars and not 2nd instars? I had 65 Avic 1st instars drown on stockings and they were less developed than your pics.
