Hello hi.

So...the first and only time i posted was an introduction and a Q or 5. Its time, im getting my first T :woohoo:

No idea where or from who yet :pinch: BUT, I'd like to get the housing sorted so long. Advice is needed pretty please. Im looking to get either a Curly or Chilean Rose sling - whats the best subtrate/mix for these beaus? Is a "little" cave "OK" or recommended for 'em? This is my first time ever, i know it doesnt have to be "perfect" but I dont know what im doing. And the web has just way too much info that doesnt add up.

The only place I can "walk" into here ( you know where i reside  ) is a very well know Pets Place, I shant mention names, unless allowed? Now because of where i am, I cant walk in there and ask them for substrate for a T, i'll have to tell a white lie. What else is substrate used for that one could use as an "excuse"...?

I understand if no one is willing to help because of my "circumstances" but this is so far the only place thats helped me a tad...

"All i want for Christmas...is a T.." :woohoo:

For substrate, just go to your nearest Builders warehouse and get a palm peat brick. Add hot water and you have the perfect substrate.
As for a first T, try get a B.albopilosum. Much better as a starter than a G.rosea as far as Im concerned.
As a sling, a small plastic container with some peat in will do fine. It will probably burrow quite a bit, so no need for a hide as a start until it hits the 5cm+ mark.

Hello Bee C

I have a few Curlies that will be ready to go soon. I will gladly sponsor your first one or two at no cost. They should be ready to go early Jan.

A Bracypelma albopilosum was my first T and they are are great.

Let me know if you are intersted.

Wow - you guys are way too generous! Thank you :woohoo: but I could never accept anything for free...
Where are you guys based, perhaps I could collect or arrange to somehow get one? I've decided - I'll start with a curly!
