Hi Golgren welcome man... just remember to check that the T eats the cricket if its alive... dont leave an live cricket in your T enclosure EVER... the T might molt and during that process the cricket can eat and kill your T because they cant defend themselves at all during the molt process...

Hey Golgren, I myself have only been in the hobby for 4 months and have a collection of 28 tarantulas with my husband's included. I would suggest feeding roaches only as they are more nutritious for them and they won't harm the T like the crickets. You can place them in the T's enclosure and see if it takes it, if not you can leave it and with the next feeding just see if it has taken it. out of experience my Ts knows when its feeding time and on Sunday my Mexican Fireleg and Trinidad Olive looked for their food themselves in the enclosure

ive been looking for roaches hvnt been able to come across any in the centuruon area so if anyone could guide me id appreciate that , but so far the crickets are doing ok :)
thats a very impressive collection now for 4 months! i have about 9 now but am living on a student income.
i do agree with feeding schedules they certainly are active when a little peckish haha!

and on the leaving prey in a cage really dont like it , dropped one in my orange mouth and saw afterwards her molt lying there so battled to get the cricket out , cricket was briefly in there didnt cause any harm , but the old girl wasnt so freshly molted and was pretty pissed of with me for taking the cricket out and rearanging her house
